Born and raised in India, Rupa dreamt of opportunities not afforded to girls and those in lower socioeconomic backgrounds. Following those childhood dreams with resilience and grit, Rupa came to the US in her early 20’s on an H1B visa, $200 borrowed cash, and 2 suitcases.

Congratulations, Valerie!
Valerie Rivera, founder of FirstGen Wealth, is the inaugural winner of the LSF $5,000 grant for Women in Finance. In the last year, Valerie has overcome her fears and worked to launch First Gen Wealth. Her mission is to help other “firsts”, like herself, have strong financial futures.

#XYPNLIVE22 Scholarship Award
The LSF Board of Directors chose from women and non-binary recipients who want to make an impact in their profession, are passionate about life, and strive to make a difference in the community around them.



$5000 Grant Now Open for Applications
Grant applications are due by Oct. 15, 2022, and can be found on the foundation's website at www.lucyshairfoundation.org. The grant will be awarded by the end of the year, and then annually in subsequent years.
